The Scarborough Spa Express
There was a time, a few years ago, when steam was a regular occurrence through Woodlesford station. The Scarborough Spa Express operated 3 times a week through the summer months but now only operates 3 times a year at the October half term school holidays.
LMS Jubilee Class 45699 Galatea was in charge of this year’s first Scarborough Spa Express filmed at Woodlesford station on its morning trip to Scarborough.
This was my first time using my DJI Osmo for filming any main line action. I’m happy with the quality of the video but I’m working on improving the sound quality.
No steam on the morning SSE at Wakefield Westgate

Had a little ride in this restored coach at the West Somerset Steam Gala.
At the West Somerset Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala held on 6th - 9th October 2016, saw the first time that the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust’s Coach number 4 carried fare paying passengers for over 70 years.
No. 4 was built at Highbridge in 1886, taken out of use in 1929, and the body converted for use as a cricket pavilion at Templecombe. It was rescued by the Trust in 1986 and brought to Washford, where it is now resplendent in the fully lined out Prussian blue livery of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway. The restoration was completed in August of 2016. No. 4 was in use for the Spring Steam Gala only partly completed.
