Our second visit to the North Norfolk Railway.

One advantage of this short picturesque railway line close to the Norfolk Coastline is there plenty of action with not long to wait between trains.

We began our journey at Holt and travelled the length of the line to Sherringham. As it was raining as the train pulled in we travelled back to Weybourne. The weather had cleared up enough to have a look around the station and a for us to take a walk along the path which gives good views of the railway and the North Sea beyond.

We walked back to Weybourne and caught a train to Sheringham to have a look around there as the weather was a bit better.

Finally, we had a ride back from Sheringham to Holt

Steam locomotives taking part in the gala were:

The Scarborough Spa Express operated 3 times a week through the summer months but now only operates 3 times a year at the October half term school holidays.

LMS Jubilee Class 45699 Galatea was in charge of this year’s first Scarborough Spa Express filmed at Woodlesford station on its morning trip to Scarborough.

This was my first time using my DJI Osmo for filming any main line action. I’m happy with the quality of the video but I’m working on improving the sound quality.
Had a little ride in this restored coach at the West Somerset Steam Gala.

At the West Somerset Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala held on 6th - 9th October 2016, saw the first time that the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust’s Coach number 4 carried fare paying passengers for over 70 years.

No. 4 was built at Highbridge in 1886, taken out of use in 1929, and the body converted for use as a cricket pavilion at Templecombe. It was rescued by the Trust in 1986 and brought to Washford, where it is now resplendent in the fully lined out Prussian blue livery of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway. The restoration was completed in August of 2016. No. 4 was in use for the Spring Steam Gala only partly completed.
